As practical experience is becoming increasingly important when looking for a job, the International Business programme offers students the opportunity to do an internship. Students can choose an internship of 6 ECTS (20 full-time workdays) or 12 ECTS (40 full-time workdays), but there is no maximum duration. It can take place at any time during the academic year, though we prefer you to do it during the summer. The International Business programme has connections with companies like Coca-Cola, IBM, Daikin, BNP Paribas, KPMG, and PwC. In addition, students can apply for internships at the European Commission and the European Parliament – both in Brussels. As international experience can boost your resume, VUB allows – and even encourages – international internships.

Our alumni from all over the world share their experiences at VUB in the International Business master with you.
"I recommend this programme to everyone who wants to develop their career in a multinational environment."
"The MSc in International Business is a challenging and well-structured programme. This programme offers not only a set of core modules related to general business aspects but also a broad range of elective modules that you wish to master.
During my 2 years of study, I met dozens of professors who are highly competent in their fields, combined with experience in real-life organizations. I could exchange ideas and seek advice from them to understand complex topics in international business management.
Graduating from the MSc in International Business not only provided me with essential knowledge of various aspects of business management but also gave me the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge in real-life organizations. I also got the opportunity to do an internship at a well-known multinational company.
In addition, what I really liked about studying at VUB is that I could meet students from multi-cultural backgrounds. This taught me how to work with people from multicultural backgrounds and understand different viewpoints of the business environment."
"This programme excellently prepares you for your further career."
"Being a Belgian student, this English-speaking master was a great opportunity for me. I really enjoyed the international experience by getting to know and working with people from all around the world, all while being in Brussels, one of the main international gateways of Europe. This master offers a large scope of what the economy has to offer and is also a great way to combine theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on experience."

"The experience of working together with students from all around the world, under the guidance of excellent professors is invaluable."
"Studying International Business at VUB has been a rewarding experience for a multitude of students from all four corners of the globe, including me, nurturing an international and multicultural environment. Graduation at VUB has contributed to the community some of the future business leaders who are confident, resilient, and worldly.
Coming from a developing country in Eastern Europe, Kosovo, I began studies covered in the colors of my nation's flag. Living the international business graduate experience, I was embraced by many more colours, ideas, and people. We all learned to be one people of the world. Willing to defy convictions and become better citizens, in the heart of Europe, Brussels.
My two years at VUB have been memorable, amazing, and challenging. Even in hardship, we the VUBians were "Conquering darkness by science". VUB has sparked in each and every one of us the sense of responsibility, the academic rigour, and the willingness to be the light and the change we want to see in the world.
Ever wondered what Vrije means? Free, Open and Fun. Don't translate it, live it. Come to Vrije Universiteit Brussel."
