How does it work?

Since 2013, the IES (now part of the Brussels School of Governance alliance) offers a Postgraduate Certificate in EU Policy Making designed and instructed by EU and e-learning experts. This academic programme is equivalent to 25 ECTS and combines 5 EU Modules online courses with the Inter-University Summer School or Winter School, in an innovative blended learning fashion. The certificate is an excellent choice for students and young professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge on the functioning of the European Union, its intricate decision-making process and the roles of various actors involved.

Study credits

This academic programme is equivalent to 25 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). 1 credit represents 25-30 hours of study activity.

EU Modules & Summer School

The five EU modules are entirely online, involving communication with teachers and tutors, support, assignments and feedback. All students get access to the online courses on CANVAS for a period of 12 months (full-time track) or 24 months (part-time track) , the entire duration of the Postgraduate Certificate programme. The written exams take place online in January (first term) and in May (second term). Click here for more details about the courses.

The Summer School on EU Policy Making is a face-to-face course that takes place in July for two weeks, one week in Brussels and one week in Vienna. Its Winter School equivalent takes place in February and is an online programme.
